La vecia via della Lana

The Vecia Via della Lana is an itinerary immersed in the green of the hills cultivated with vines, olive trees and cherry trees which winds along the eastern ridge of the Lessini Mountains. It evokes the memory of the ancient Wool path : a path used for centuries, since ancient times, to transport the raw wool to the factories and establishments of the nearby valleys (eg Chiampo Valley) and then return with skeins to knit to wrap stockings, sweaters and hats. Today it is an ideal route for cycling, hiking and equestrian tourism enthusiasts who come from Soave and reach San Bortolo (part of the municipality of Selva di Progno). In total it is an itinerary of about 48 kilometers, which involves the Municipalities of Soave, Cazzano, Illasi, Tregnago, Badia Calavena and Selva di Progno.

The initial route, which begins from the classic Soave wine production area, starts from Soave - Porta Aquila - along the road that leads to the sanctuary of the Bassanella and the castle of Soave, continues to Carcera, and then continues to Cazzano and San Felice (in the municipality of Illasi). The entire Via della Lana alternates paved concrete stretches with white paths and is also equipped with signs to give correct indications to visitors.
